. Currently, the centre is under construction and it is expected to be completed by 2008.

The administrative centre will consist of the State Assembly Building (now Bangunan Sultan Ismail), Chief Minister Complex (now Bangunan Dato' Jaafar bin Muhammad) and the Secretariat of the State of Johor. The buildings will face the kiblat

The Chief Minister Complex and Secretary of State building will house the chief minister's office, state EXCO offices, Secretary of State office and many other departments. It is expected to have 21480 square feet (1,995.6 m²) of office space in a five storey structure.

Kota Iskandar is near the first phase of Nusajaya city, where Dataran Mahkota and two state department buildings will be built.
