Art
Kossa Bokchan has gone through several painting stages. Although short-lived episode of delay showed a desire to paint outside the dogma of socialist realism by choosing themes landscapes and portraits, as opposed to work at the Academy when she painted arranged 'still life' and 'skeletons'. Stylistically, it belonged to the expressive realism. In the very first exhibitions in Belgrade shows clearly a departure from the aesthetics of socialist realism, a move to Paris is definitely directed towards contemporary art trends, especially to a geometric and lyrical abstraction, and gradually approaching and informel. After the 1961st year she is returning to realism in a specific way which is characteristic of 'The Paris School' - a named abstract naturalism (Michel Ragon). Finally, it is, the visual stimulus of the Byzantine tradition, turns the mythical symbolic form of her art provides a definitive artistic expression.Awards
