Koma Denge Azadi was one of the most popular Kurdish music

. The band was formed in 1990 in Istanbul
and over the next ten years it became one of the most important and most successful Kurdish bands :ku:Koma Dengê Azad%C3%AE.
Like other Kurdish bands of the 90's, Koma Dengê Azadî adopted a style which was completely new for the Kurdish music scene. They reinterpreted the traditional Kurdish Music
in a modern form with particular appeal to the young generation of Kurds and Turks.
Koma Denge Azadi has released four albums. All their albums have been banned by the state and most of their concerts have been banned. But despite all this oppression and obstacles the band has remained popular. The Band has also given numerous concerts in Germany, Belgium, Netherlands and United Kingdoms.
Most fans of Koma Denge Azadi were Turkish and Kurdish young people who live in metropolises.
