Playing career

Crowley received his first international cap on 1 June 1985 against England and would play 19 test matches scoring 105 points. He was a member of the 1987 World Cup winning side.

Crowley played club rugby for Kaponga and provincial rugby with Taranaki.

Coaching career

Crowley was coach of the Taranaki provincial side from 1998 to 2007. From 2002 to 2003 he also acted as a selector for the All Blacks. In 2007, he coached the New Zealand Under 19s at the World Championships
