The most famous winners of Khartoum league were the two strong teams of Sudan, Al-Merrikh

 and Al-Hilal, they both won the championship 17 and 16 times respectively before their withdrawal in 1997. No team had exceeded the number of tiles of Al-Merreikh although al-Merreikh is no more a member in that league since early 1997.
