Kesar is an Indian television serial that aired on STAR Plus
, based on the life of a young girl from rural Punjab
named Kesar. Kesar concluded on May 31, 2007 but is currently being repeated from the beginning on the TV Asia
channel in USA.
Later on, Kesar does find Muskaan and wants her to marry Abhimanyu (Arjun's son). Secretly, Abhimanyu does not want to get married, instead he wants to move to America. On the day of his engagement he ran away and everyone thought he died after an incident with fire. Arjun Gill arrests a don
and Kesar finds out that the don's wife is her nasty sister, Katrina. Katrina tells everyone that Kesar and Kavita are the same person. When Abhimanyu returned, Kesar threw him out the house and he went to Katrina, who is Kesar's enemy. Ages before, Kesar had a twin sister Kangna who died in a bomb blast with Kesar's first husband Rudra Mallya. Now Kesar lives with Arjun Gill her husband and Muskaan. Krish lives with his real dad, Harman Khanna, who was engaged to Kesar but could not get married, because he kept a fact from her, that he was already married. Harman becomes friends with a girl called Nupur. He remains good friends with Kesar.
One day, Nupur suspects Harman and Kesar's relationship and tries to kill Kesar, but instead the attempt was made on Harman and he became blind
. Nobody knows Nupur did that, apart from Khwaish, Nupur and Harman's daughter. Khwaish tells Nupur she knows, but she doesn't let anyone else know about it.
Krish meets Khushali, and they fall in love while Muskaan and Rohan meet and fall in love too. On their engagement night, Kesar finds out Rohan's real name is Ajay and he is already married. Krish and Khushali get engaged but Muskaan and Rohan do not. Rohan leaves the house but tells everyone that he already informed Muskaan about this truth in a CD
but Muskaan never managed to watch it. Then Muskaan decides to get married to Rohan again, but on her engagement night, she is strangled. The person who wanted to kill Muskaan by strangling her was Naina, Muskaan and Rohan's wedding planner. Naina knows Rohan and loved him ever since college but Rohan did not love her. She had now come back in his life to marry him. On Muskaan and Rohan's wedding day, when police arrest Rohan for killing his first wife. Naina was actually the one who killed Rohan's first wife, but she gathered evidence against Rohan and showed it to the police on their wedding day, so that their marriage woud be delayed. Kesar and Arjun support Rohan and manage Naina to admit killing Rohan's first wife. Naina then commits suicide

Muskaan and Rohan get together. Then, on the day of their marriage, Muskaan decides not to marry Rohan. Abhimanyu starts to love Muskaan and confessed his love for her. Then he rapes her because of this reason. This is taken to court. Meanwhile, Katrina is blackmailing Nupur about the truth of Harman's blindness being revealed. In the end Nupur tells Harman that she is the reason of him becoming blind. Nupur gets shot and dies. Then one day, Arjun tries to kill Harman, because he suspects Harman and Kesar's relationship. But Harman tells Arjun that his eyes have healed and he can see. Arjun is shocked to hear this. Kesar then brings the police and they arrest Arjun.
Meanwhile, ever since Muskaan and Rohan have got married, Rohan beats up Muskaan, because he thinks that Muskaan and Abhimanyu are having an affair.
When Rohan realises that they are not having an affair, he apologises to Muskaan but she doesn't forgive him. Muskaan and Kesar then move in with Harman, Krish, Khushali and Khwaish in Harman's house.

Plot
The show is based on the life of main protagonist Kesar, who has many ups and downs in her life. Going through these uneven times, Kesar changes her identity to Kavita. Kavita is married to Police Commissioner Arjun Gill and had a son from Arjun's first marriage. Kesar wants to find her daughter Muskaan and her adopted son Krish.Later on, Kesar does find Muskaan and wants her to marry Abhimanyu (Arjun's son).
