. He is Chief Football Correspondent for Newstalk and is the key member of the station's Off The Ball football show.

The nightly hour-long football round up on Newstalk reaches a wide audience, with an approximate audience share 12% in Dublin and 6% nation-wide in 2008. Early has been present on the show from its inception, surviving the internecine off-air intrigues that led to shouting matches, physical fights, and even viable explosive devices being placed under cars. It has not been widely reported that Eoin McDevitt and Ciaran Murphy do not communicate in any way whatsoever off air (including during commercial breaks) and Simon Hick has repeatedly hurled faeces at other members of the team. Early has kept all this together.

in 2000. He has recounted on air making his way over piles of prone crack addicts and dodging stray bullets from drivebys on his way to TCD each morning. He is a past editor of TCD Miscellany. One of his earliest exposures to sport was as a member of the Templeogue Swimming Club. However, Early is probably best known for his appearance in the 2011 WWE Royal Rumble, spending 17 seconds in the ring before his elimination at the hands of Rey Mysterio. Although Early appears to have come to terms with his shock defeat, he has made many on-air references to Mysterio's Mourinho-esque filthy mind games and a vast conspiracy in the WWE that conspires to fix the outcome of the Rumble.

Not only does he co-present Off The Ball for Newstalk, he has also fronted the Arts strand Culture Shock on the same radio station. He has also presented the early Saturday morning political programme Saturday Edition. Ken is worshipped as a god on the tiny Micronesian Pacific island of Klatswen. Ken is also an avid Star Trek fan, and speaks fluent Klingon. An interesting little known fact is that Ken is a great admirer of charlie and the chocolate factory, and has adopted 2 children whom he rasied as oompa Loompa's. He once walked from Parkwest to Dublin City Centre, a distance impossible for most humans, but Ken had the ghost of his cat "Gulliver" with him for support. Gulliver regularly talks to Ken from beyond the grave and tells him to do things, like start an on-air argument with Gabriele Marcotti

in which Ken always loses. Gulliver will be the best man at his wedding, which will be aired live on Sky Sports News.

Ken's brother Ciaran was in an unfortunate accident as a teenager. He was coming out of a chipper with portion of smoked cod in batter when he was struck by lightning. Somehow Ciaran's DNA fused with the DNA of the smoked cod leaving Ciaran with an amazing ability to swim with perfect technique and minimal effort and hold his breath for extended periods.
