In 2006, Cecil auditioned for an all-girl teen pop band to be mentored by The Go-Go's
, and was selected as rhythm guitarist and backing vocalist. The band was signed to Walt Disney Records

. KSM released the album Read Between the Lines
in September 2009, before splitting in August 2010.
