Kauth made the pre-Olympic cut for the 2002 United States Olympic hockey team. Her father, Don Kauth, was killed on September 11, 2001 while working in the World Trade Center for Keefe, Bruyette & Woods. She won a bronze medal at the 2006 Winter Olympics
