Kami nAPO Muna is the first tribute album
recorded to honor the 1970s Filipino
musical group, APO Hiking Society
. "Kami nAPO Muna", in Filipino
, literally means "it's our turn", the phrase also being a play
on the Apo name. The Apo Hiking Society
itself used the word nAPO (na po, a formal phrase meaning already) in many of their concerts and even on a noontime television show. During the launching of the album, a tribute concert was sponsored by MYX Music Channel
to honor the contributions of the trio to OPM Music.
A two-disc limited edition set of Kami nAPO Muna has been released; it contains the original Apo Hiking Society
renditions of the tribute tracks on the second disc.
This album is considered the biggest selling album of 2006 in the Philippines with 4x Platinum Certification (more than 125,000 copies sold) in less than 6 months. It is Awit Awards
