The nearest important cities are Nagpur
(to the north) and Hyderabad (to the south). It is situated on the main route of Chennai – Delhi. It is connected with National Highway No.7.Perennial river peddavagu which is a tribute of river godavari.
, Kaghaznagar had a population of 59,549. Males constitute 51% of the population and females 49%. Kaghaznagar has an average literacy rate of 69%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 78%, and female literacy is 61%. In Kaghaznagar, 11% of the population is under 6 years of age.
), initially it was called Kothapeta (new village). The Sirpur Paper Mills Limited (SPM) an integrated pulp and paper mill is one of the earliest mills in the country situated at Sirpur-Kaghaznagar in the district of Adilabad, Andhra Pradesh; it began production in 1942.
The spm sirpur paper mill was build in the year of 1942 when the british government is ruling the country, the SPM is inaugurated with 2800 Workers but now the ratio is 900 due to every year retirements.
When the spm was started the rules like a British government, Britishers left the company but until now the rules are same.
Since last 5 years company has developed machineries and plants, but they not hiring the employees as a permanent, the majority of employees is belongs to contract base only.
The SPM contract worker can’t bare any good food and good cloths.
Every year government is issuing the new GO’s for contract labours, the SPM management is not entertaining any GO’s, the spm management is submitting the case in the court to not implement the new GO’s, those GO’s is not implementing in many years.
When the labours is asking for implementation of new GO’s to the SPM management, they management rejecting always, then the labours and SPM leaders going for the strick and fighting with management after many days they management is dealing with leaders under the table, after that the spm management is implementing the very old GO’s on installment basis and the arias is not included.
The spm is located in the heart of the city kaghaznagar, as per the government rules spm should have to take care and develop the city , the spm is buying the municipality chairperson to clear the tax bills up to now they clear Rs. 5,00,00,000 Five corers, SPM management is dealing easily with the officials under the table (Ex: labour department).any have even not controlling the pollution, due to pollution kaghaznagar peoples are facing many diseases problems and the life is very shorter then earlier.
SPM contract labours is dying, spm should have to take the contract labours as a permanent employees based on seniority.
I requested to the Governament of Andhra Pradesh many times but until now they not took any action against the SPM management.
My humble request to the central Government of India, to involve in this case resolving the issues as soon as possible.
