Before its switch to its current talk radio format, KLFE aired a brokered Christian and Russian language format.
Prior to becoming KLFE, 1590 was also called "KJET" with an alternative rock
format, which signed off on September 23, 1988. After that, the station became KQUL, with Seattle's home for Z-Rock. On October 11, 1989, the station became a simulcast of KZOK. On September 8, 1994, the station became KPOZ. The KLFE call letters came into effect on August 1, 1995.
