History

KJOJ started out as a simulcast of KJOJ-FM's Christian format in the 1990s. In 1998 it moved its studio located in the Woodlands to the Clear Channel studios in Houston. Then in May 2001, Both KJOJ AM and FM stations merged with KTJM played Jammin Hits up and down the dial and changed formats in July 2001 to "La Raza Radio" upon sale to Liberman Broadcasting. In April 2007, Liberman changed KJOJ-AM's format to Indian music. The last General Manager of KJOJ during its religious format and before its move into Houston was Kathy Watson and last Program Director was Gary Johnson.

KJOJ 880 AM's previous format was a simulcast of KTJM 98.5 Ryhtmtic Oldies "Houston's Jammin Hits"
now defunct KQUE 1230 AM was also a part of the simulcast.

Before the simulcast it was a Christian format.
