Controversy struck in 2007 when it was announced Justine was to be recast with Lucy Wigmore

It was announced in July 2009 that Justine would be returning in a guest role to finish off her storyline. The episodes received huge ratings, becoming the shows second highest ever ratings at that period.

2005-2009

Justine first appeared in Shortland street in 2005 when she arrived at Shortland Street to assist Chris Warner. Justine used her position to undermine Chris and eventually stole the contract away from him and took it to Australia.

Justine was rehired in July 2006 and used her looks to gain a powerful reputation in the hospital. She started an affair with Mark Weston

, a 37 year old solo mother. Justine had a hateful vendetta against Tess, however was saddened when Tess broke up with Hunter due to his extreme emotional state.

In 2008 Justine finds herself involved in finding out information on corrupt pharmaceutical company Scott Spear. Fellow doctor Craig Valentine

Justine returns in July 2009 for the trial but is shocked to learn Callum has moved on with temptress Brooke Freeman
