Plot summary

Avinash Malhotra (Bobby Deol

) is a rich business man and is married to Sanjana (Lara Dutta

). Avinash suspects his wife of having an affair and decides to take action against her. However, after getting drunk in anger one night, he wakes up and gets arrested by the police on suspicion of murdering his wife.

His friend Rohit (Milind Soman

), a lawyer, helps Avinash break free if he gives him power of attorney over his properties. Rohit soon double-crosses Avinash, shoots him and leaves him for dead. Avinash goes into a coma for several weeks and is severely weakened by the shots. After recovering he traces Rohit to Malaysia and upon reaching is surprised to see he is together with his supposed dead wife Sanjana. They had used all his money to buy a chain of hotels. Avinash begins to make random appearances in front of Sanjana, making her believe she's going mad.

Later Avinash kills Rohit and has Sanjana arrested. He is granted freedom and his property is returned to him.
