Career

Cassar started to skate at age 8 because his father played hockey at the Detroit Skating Club. He twice competed at the U.S. Championships

 as a junior. In 2008, his first year as a senior-level skater, he was unable to qualify for the US Championships.

In May 2010, Cassar announced that he was moving from Michigan to California to work with coach Frank Carroll
