Paul Dawson. He defeated Dawson in 1987 and continued to represent the riding until 1995 when it was abolished. McKay represented Miramichi Centre
from 1995 to 1999. He was speaker of the provincial assembly from 1996 to 1997. In 1999, he was defeated by Progressive Conservative Kim Jardine
when he ran for reelection.
