Professor Slemrod received his B.A. degree from Princeton University in 1973 and a Ph.D. in economics from Harvard University in 1980. Joel Slemrod is the department chair of the Economics department at the University of Michigan. Dr. Slemrod also serves as Director of the Office of Tax Policy Research, which is a research center at the University of Michigan. He has been at Michigan since 1987 and does research on taxation.
