, scoring 60 points in 58 games. The Slapshot would change their name from the New York Slapshots to Troy Slapshots after the 1985-86 season, but DeMitchell remained with the team. DeMitchell would open the 1986-87 season scoring 7 points in 6 games before the Slapshots folded. DeMitchell was one of several players claimed by the Mohawk Valley Comets
