 of July 2007, while Jerome was reporting for TV3 (at an inquest into the death of an Irish prisoner) outside Dublin City Coroner's Court, he received a death threat live on air. Jerome was reporting for the main evening news when shouting could be heard coming from behind him. A man wearing a brown hoodie approached Jerome and pulled up his hood. "I'll blow your fucking head off", the man shouted. The man continued to make a gun shape with his hand at Jerome's face and said, "Ya fuckin' muppet" and gun shots can be heard before it cuts back to the shocked studio. There were fears for Jerome's life while the Irish Daily Star
