Playing career

The Toronto native starred on the St. Michael's Buzzers and was a product of the Canadian National Team Program before being selected 30th overall by the Philadelphia Flyers in the 1987 NHL Entry Draft

, Harding signed a 3 year contract with Flyers. Harding played in Philadelphia in 1988 and 1989 but suffered a broken patella bone and severed several tendons. Following his time in Philadelphia he played for the Canadian National Team competing in the Spengler and Izvestia Cup. The young forward was then signed by the Minnesota North Stars
