During his third year Tipping produced, directed and edited his own film entitled “Searching For Al” featuring famed theatre actor Martha Henry

. “Searching For Al” went on to receive various awards including the TV Ontario Telefest Awards and the Winner of Best Independent Documentary at the Niagara Indie Film Festival, as well as a MA Award for “People’s Choice”.
In 2001, Tipping began working at Panic and Bob Editing and School Editing Inc. in Toronto Canada. There he worked on various television commercials for Dove

In 2003 Tipping edited several episodes of Swap TV. One of his shows, “Child Paleontologist swaps with Miss Teen Canada” won a 2004 Gemini Award for Best Children’s or Youth Non-Fiction Program or Series.
The alias he chose, “Jay Topping”.
Tipping edited Seasons 4 and 5 of Kenny vs Spenny.

In the “Who Can Piss Off More People” episode, the British Columbia Human Rights Commission accused Kenny Hotz
of hate speech crimes for his actions in the episode. To win the contest, Kenny paid to have a plane fly over Toronto dragging a banner that reads "Jesus Sucks"…. Effectively pissing off “the whole city”.
The case is still pending a decision.
Tipping edited the “water montage” sequence for the DreamWorks SKG film “The Tuxedo
” starring Jackie Chan
and Jennifer Love Hewitt

In 2000, Tipping made a documentary about Canadian Icon Al Waxman
. Frustrated with the country’s infatuation with Al Waxman, Tipping took a humorous journey to find out the truth behind the man… and the legend.
At the end of the film the screen goes to black. Then, Al Waxman appears sitting in a chair staring at the camera. He says, “Hi, I’m Al Waxman, and I’m an actor, writer and director”.
Within the year, Al Waxman had died (Jan. 18, 2001), making this interview with Tipping one of Waxman's final public interviews and appearances.
The film went on to win the Niagara Indie Film festival Winner and TV Ontario's Telefest Award.
Tipping once made a documentary film called “The Cemetery”, which took place entirely in a Cemetery.
