He also served as Chairman of West Sussex Social Services in 2003-07.Dr Walsh was a member of the Sussex Police Authority (1989-2005) and the authority's Chairman in 1995-97. In addition, he serves as a Littlehampton Harbour Commissioner (1990-date) and the Chairman (2001-2005). Between 2002 and 2004,Dr Walsh also served as Chairman of the West Sussex Local Medical Committee. He was also Chairman of Littlehampton School Governors (1985-99). As a full member of the EU-Committee of the Regions for Southeast England, he served from 1998 to 2002. From 1995 to 1997, he was the Founder Chairman of the EU Airport Regions Conference
