He married Cecilia de Comenges (1321–1381), the daughter of Juan Bernardo de Comenges Count of Comenges and Viscount of Tours, in 1336 in Catalona. They had two children, Pedro 19th Conde of Urgel and Isabel. He also had daughter born about 1335, whose son Jaime de Zayas (born 1360, date of death unknown), was the ancestor of the Zayas-Bazan family in Cuba
