) is a former badminton
player from Malaysia.
He won the bronze medal together with his brother Razif
in the doubles competition at the 1992 Summer Olympics
. The Sidek brothers became the first ever Olympic medalists for their country since first participation at Melbourne
1956. During his career with his brother Razif
, they won several local and international championship titles. The most memorable was when he became the youngest player to win the All England Championship title in 1982.
After he retired as badminton player, he established a badminton club to find talented new players, called Nusa Mahsuri Club, which he has been an advisor to since 1996. He was also responsible in grooming the Hashim brothers, Roslin
and Hafiz
to become Malaysian national badminton players.
