It has an elementary and middle school, which is also used by the surrounding communities. It has a grocery store, along with a few locally owned convenience stores. It has a municipal park, which is maintained by the village.

In 1994, the Village of Jacquet River, along with a few unincorporated communities amalgamated with the Village of Belledune to form a larger village known as Belledune: "The Super Village".

Education

Jacquet River only has one school. It is Jacquet River School as known as "JRS". It is supported by, District 15. The school has eight grades: Kindergarten, Grade 1, Grade 2, Grade 3, Grade 4, Grade 5, Grade 6, Grade 7, Grade 8. Every grade is also available in French, through the program "french immersion".

History

Jacquet River has a very strong history with many families having deep roots there, including the Gauthiers, Joncas', Cormiers, Furlottes, Lapointes, Carriers, Hickeys, Mallaleys, Kellys, Dempseys, Driscolls and the Doyles who originally settled by James Augustus Doyle in 1791.
