Iscomar
Encyclopedia
Iscomar is a company that operates a single ferry service between Alcudia on the Balearic island of Mallorca and Ciutadella on the Balearic island of Menorca. It used to operate ferry services from the Balearics to the Spanish mainland but no longer does so owing to the precarious financial state of its parent company, Contenemar.

History

. As of the 2011 operating season the company appears to be in severe difficulties as its website at www.iscomar.com shows it now only operating services between Alcudia and Ciutadella and none of its other routes to Mallorca or Ibiza from the Spanish mainland any longer seem to be in operation. The route map at www.iscomar.com still shows all the former operating routes but voyages on these routes cannot any longer be booked on the company's website. The insolvent state of the company that has led to it being banned from operating in to or out of the port of Barcelona can also be confirmed at www.ship2shore.it/english/articolo.php?id=5573

Routes

The company operates the following routes:
  • Ibiza - Barcelona / Denia / Valencia / Formentera / Palma
  • Palma - Valencia / Barcelona
  • Mahon - Valencia / Barcelona
  • Alcudia - Ciutadella
