, which was established under Act Number 9 of 2004 by the Uttar Pradesh state government. The Institute of Integral Technology, Lucknow has been elevated to a full university.
The university is 13 kilometres from the heart of Lucknow city on Lucknow Kursi Road at a peaceful and serene place against the sylvan beauty of Kukrail Reserve Forest

Shri Atal Bihari Bajpayee, the prime minister of India, laid the foundation stone of a residential complex on 30 June 1999. During his speech he expressed his hope that the Institute of Integral Technology having the abbreviation IIT will maintain the same standard as the other IITs
do. These hopes were fulfilled when the first batch of Computer Science and Engineering gave a 100% result and all secured first division, as was the case with the second group of Electronics Engineering wherein all but two students got first division. The two batches which have so far passed out from the institute have had 100% placement.
Azam Khan, Hon’ble Minister of Urban Development overwhelmed by the progress and other achievements in the field of education setup by the Engineering Institute along with its highly impressive infrastructure, the Hon’ble Chief Minister, Shri Mulayam Singh Yadav declared that the Institute of Integral Technology shall be elevated to a full-fledged university in no time. He also granted the Minority Status to the Institute. Soon after this declaration he also got the bill passed in the Assembly on 26 February 2004 and issued Govt. Gazette Notification No. 389/ lkr - fo -1-1 (d)-9-2004 dated 27 February 2004 for the formation of Integral University.
There are seven modern well-established workshops, with traditional and modern machines and latest tools and instruments.
The university has an ISTE Student’s Chapter, inaugurated by Shri Surjeet Banaerjee, the principal secretary, Revenue, Uttar Pradesh on 25 March 2003.
The foundation-stone laying ceremony of the Faculty of Architecture was held on 7 January 2004 when the stone was laid by the chief minister of Uttar Pradesh, Shri Mulayam Singh Yadav and Shri Mohd.
The university is a deemed university by the government of U.P. and has four blocks: academic blocks 1, 2, 3 and architecture block. Besides this, the university has four boys hostels (1, 2, 3, 4) and three girls hostels. A Punjab National Bank branch is opened in the university and organizes scholarships to meritorious students.
The university gives equal importance to indoor and field games and organizes an annual sports meet in February. Students from all faculties take part in sports like cricket, football, volleyball, TT, badminton, chess. Prizes are given to the outstanding students.

History
The project started with a school in small huts. The foundation stone was laid on 30 November 1993 by the scholar Maulana Abul Hasan Ali Hasni Nadvi, rector of Darul Uloom Nadwatul Ulama, Lucknow. The school was then shifted to a main building which was inaugurated by the governor of Uttar Pradesh P. Shri Moti Lal Vohra on 14 January 1996. An engineering college was simultaneously established by the Islamic Council for Productive Education in 1997, which started functioning from 1998 with two courses — Computer Science and Engineering, and Electronics Engineering. Facilities
The university has seven computer centers and labs, computing facilities and 24-hour Internet. The computer center of the institute was inaugurated by the vice-chancellor of Dr. R. M. L.
