History

Infogroup was formed in 1972, in Omaha, Nebraska. The company has operated under several names, including American Business Information and infoUSA. The company was renamed Infogroup in 2008. In July 2010, Infogroup was acquired by CCMP Capital Advisors, which took the company private. Clare Hart is the current CEO.

Products and Services

Infogroup offers products and services within 11 categories: global business info, list services, data services, sales solutions, marketing solutions, multi-channel marketing, customer acquisition, customer retention, modeling & analytics, local search optimization and risk management.

The company operates a proprietary database containing business, lifestyle and credit information on 17 million businesses and 220 million consumers. It collects information on people and businesses worldwide using a variety of sources such as public records and information from other companies.

Infogroup's sales software include Salesgenie and OneSource iSell. In 2010, OneSource iSell won the "Top Sales 2.0 Solution" award.

The company also has third-party licensing agreements with companies including Yahoo!, AOL, Google, MSN, Ask, and Citysearch.
