The construction of a permanent campus has been initiated at Birhar village on the Khunti
-Karra road, about 35 kilometres (21.7 mi) from Ranchi. In September 2011, the Government of Jharkhand
decided that instead the original 214 acres (86.6 ha) of land allotted, only 76 acres (30.8 ha) of land will be taken from Birsa Agricultural University

These clubs plan to organize various events and workshops throughout the year, to ensure that the extra-curricular scene is dynamic. IIMR has a number of clubs like Finesse – the finance club, Marquess Club – the marketing enthusiasts, Aayam - the entrepreneurship club, Samarpan - the Social Responsibility Club, Sankriya - Operations/Strategy Club and Gnosiomania - the quizzing club.
