Ichibancon is an annual anime convention
held in and around the city of Charlotte, North Carolina
, which also celebrates Japanese Pop Culture. It is currently distinguished as being Carolina's first anime convention of the New Year. The first Ichibancon event was held at the Great Wolf Lodge in Concord, North Carolina
(approximately 25 miles northeast of Charlotte) during the weekend of January 8-10, 2010.
"Ichibancon 2" was held the weekend of January 7-9, 2011 at the Charlotte Marriott Executive Park in Charlotte, North Carolina.
"Ichibancon 3" will be held January 5-8, 2012 at The Blake Hotel in Charlotte, North Carolina. This year's event marks an expansion to a four-day event (up from three days in 2010 and 2011). Vic Mignogna
