IK Oddevold is a Swedish
football club
located in Uddevalla
, the name "Oddevold" being an older form of Uddevalla. The club, formed on 3 July 1932, currently plays in Sweden's third-flight league, Division 1. They play most of their home games at Rimnersvallen
, although there is a newly built stadium called Thordéngården.
they changed their name to Blixtens IK, but soon settled on IK Oddevold. During the 1950s, IK Oddevold was initially unable to play at Rimnersvallen without the support of ship owner, Gustaf B. Thordarson, so they played at Oddevallen, which opened in 1951.
In 1996 "IKO" spent their only season in Allsvenskan
, the top-flight league, and as of the end of the 2009 season
, they are 46th on the all-time Allsvenskan table, which is essentially an all-time performance ranking for teams that have played in the Allsvenskan.
IK Oddevold hosts many youth activities. Good performance seems important to the club, which may help high school sports (soccer, handball

) in Uddevalla. Each summer, the club organizes the soccer tournament Oddebollen for young people.
IK Oddevold are affiliated to the Bohusläns Fotbollförbund
. They currently play in Division 1 South (2011). They finished in first place in the lower league in 2010, after an exciting finale to the season when they pipped Karlstad BK
to the promotion spot.
* League restructuring in 2006 resulted in a new division being created at Tier 3 and subsequent divisions dropping a level.
