History of HAS

HAS began its first school year in the fall of 2006, with 45 students. Following the 2007-08 school year, a dispute between the owners and management of the school caused a majority of the administration, staff and students to start a new school in the area, Pacific American School. Since that time HAS has continued operations, albeit with a small student base.

In early 2009, Hsinchu American School announced a new principal, Mr. Darin Murphy. He was formerly principal of Pacific American School, as well as working with HAS initially before the move. His goal is to grow Hsinchu American School with a strong core of dedicated teachers and strong students.
