. The company grew from only producing cotter pins in its early days to next manufacturing plumbing supplies and eventually to producing the broad range of products it does today. Employees typically stay with the company for many years and even during the World Wars, employees who were enlisted as soldiers often returned to the company afterward. In 1956, the company was relocated to its present-day location in Cumberland. The manufacturing facility is still run primarily by the descendants of Walter Hindley and encompasses over 100000 square feet (9,290.3 m²) a few miles from the original plant's location.
