. The area was part of the LDS Deseret Ward until 1891 when that ward was split and the area now known as Hinckley was made the Hinckley Ward, named after Ira N. Hinckley. George Theobald surveyed the town and divided it into 14 blocks of 5 acres each.

There were 218 households out of which 43.6% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 72.5% were married couples
living together, 6.9% had a female householder with no husband present, and 17.0% were non-families. 16.5% of all households were made up of individuals and 9.2% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 3.20 and the average family size was 3.61.
In the town the population was spread out with 38.0% under the age of 18, 6.7% from 18 to 24, 24.6% from 25 to 44, 19.9% from 45 to 64, and 10.7% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 32 years. For every 100 females there were 104.7 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 102.3 males.
