 for children from four years until they are eleven years.

Originally located near High Blantyre Cross, the building was a solid, imposing sandstone

building featuring eight classrooms, located centrally around a hall/dining area. Next door was a similarly statuesque headmasters house. In the early 1970s the school was showing signs of age and could no longer cope with the influx of pupils from nearby housing developments, so a new school was built further down Hunthill Road (access is actually via Broompark Road). This new school was typically 1970s in its design, featuring improved toilet facilities, a large, flat roof and multiple entrances.

Due to the poor design of the 1970s built school, a new school was built on the same land and pupils moved in on the term directly after Christmas/new year 2005.

In 2006 High Blantyre Primary was commended as an Eco-School
