between junctions 19 and 20 has been built alongside the original junction with the Rochdale Canal and blocks the route of the branch as it turns north towards Heywood near Hope Street. Between Canal Street and Quay Street industrial buildings have been built over the former route. It is still possible to trace the route of the canal from overhead images due to the alignment of the modern buildings.
