The Hayward Unified School District (HUSD), is a public school district
serving the city of Hayward, California
. Supervised by the superintendent, and the HUSD board of trustees, the district serves more than 21,000 students in 36 schools, and employing more than 1,000 teachers. The current superintendent is Janis Duran, and the current board of trustees president is Lisa Brunner. In 2008, the district passed the Measure I school funding bond, the first bond measure in Hayward in over 45 years. The measure passed with 72% of the vote.
