He started his career in 1999, and has competed in World Cup

 races since 2001. He won his first World Cup race, a Super-G, on December 1, 2005. Reichelt also won the overall European Cup in 2005, the Giant Slalom European Cup in 2003.

In 2008 Reichelt won the Super-G World Cup which is his biggest success so far.
