Hannan city belongs to the unique Senshu area with its own dialect and customs. The Senshu dialect is spoken alongside standard Japanese. The city is known for its local brand of sake, Naniwa-masamune, of which there is a brewery in the Ozaki area. The city is also home to a type of wagashi
