Life and career

When Grundy was only two years old, his parents separated, and he was raised by various family members. Grundy was forced to switch schools so often that he was still unable to read or write at age thirteen, when he finally received remedial education. Grundy continued to train, with the ultimate goal of getting a green card as an exceptional athlete and emigrating to the United States.

Following his first major competition in 1991, Grundy competed virtually every year for the rest of the 1990s. He became the only person (to date) who has won both the titles of "Mr Australia" and "Mr Australasia" (IFBB

After retiring from professional bodybuilding, Grundy had a two-year period where he underwent three shoulder reconstructions (he tore the rotator cuff of the bone three times and tore his labrum three times). This was a tough period for Grundy as he became a father and for two years he was unable to train or lift weights.

Grundy has been focusing on acting since 2008 and has appeared in numerous national commercials for Foster's Beer, Verizon and AT&T. In 2009 he appeared in Spike TV's The Deadliest Warrior where he was cast as The Gladiator. He has also appeared in several films.
