After the 1945 Italian defeat and the Allied troops occupation, he was judged twice by the Allied Commanders and acquitted and finally exposed in some Italian newspapers as a collaborator of Fascism as other people, being also acquitted.

He was replaced in 1946, by Carlo Faina. In 1966 the Montecatini Edison Company was amalgamated by Italian politicians.
