before being given the command of the 9th Fighter Squadron
. In 1998 he was transferred to the Office of the United States Secretary of Defense
. Following this he was given the 479th Flying Training Group
. In 2002 he was named Deputy Director of Requirements of Air Combat Command
before being given the command of 379th Air Expeditionary Wing
in 2004 and serving in the Iraq War. Following this he was assigned to Air Education and Training Command
