are working to encourage the use of more efficient wood boilers instead of the older dirty models. The Greenwood Aspen Series, for example, emits only 8.4 grams of particulates per hour, compared to over 70 grams per hour from older technology.
Experts on wood-burning products say there is no independent way to verify the company's claims. The units cannot be sold in Washington because the boilers release more than the maximum 4.5 grams of particulate matter per hour.

Greenwood Technologies' heating products meet the strict requirements for efficiency and emissions set forth in the EPA's Outdoor Wood-fired Hydronic Heaters (OWHH) program. The Aspen Series also meets the even more stringent Phase 2 requirements.

Greenwood Furnace Series

The Greenwood Furnace Series was launched in 2005 as an indoor wood furnace (residential use) designed to burn at sustained temperatures between 1800 and 2000 degrees Fahrenheit. The higher burn temperature causes the Greenwood Furnace Series to produce very little creosote and smoke. The high temperatures also give the furnace an efficiency of up to 85%. The Greenwood Furnace Series is available in models capable of providing between 100,000 and 300,000 BTU

Aspen Series Outdoor Wood Furnace

The Aspen Series Outdoor Wood Furnace (residential and commercial use) is the outdoor version of the Greenwood Furnace Series. It is designed to replace the often-banned, traditional outdoor wood boilers. The Aspen Series is available in models capable of providing between 110,000 and 420,000 BTU/hour.
