defined by the Office of Management and Budget. It is located in the South Central
region of Texas. The MSA of Greater San Antonio is colloquially referred to as the "San Antonio-New Braunfels" metropolitan area as of the 2010 census.
The official 2010 U.S. Census results showed the metropolitan area's population at 2.14 million—up from a reported 1.71 million in 2000
—making it the 25th largest metropolitan area in the United States.
