d Glenda, Kirkham started his field hockey career at the small club of Alford from a young age, from here Glenn moved to the bigger club of Long Sutton until it was time to go to university. Glenn passed his Alevels at the Queen Elizabeth Grammar school in Alford and set off to the University of Loughborough where he played for the huge club of Loughborough students in the National League. Currently, he is playing for East Grinstead
. He was named as the England captain for 2006-07, and currently serves as vice-captain. Kirkham also teaches sport at the Perse School, Cambridge
and used to play football for the youth team of Scunthorpe United FC where he played in the junior FA cup. He has also been an above average cricket player in his time, representing the legendary team Alford & District Cricket Club, in the Lincolnshire Premier League.
Glenn took part in the pinnicle of a hockey players career of the 2008 Olympics

hockey team beat Korea in the 5th/6th play off game to finish 5th.
Glenn was always part of the England team that participated in the field hockey world cup in Monchengladbach, Germany where they finished 5th overall. Also in the European championships in Liepzig, Germany in 2005 where they finished 6th.
Currently Glenn is with the England squad in Delhi, India at the Hero Honda world cup losing only one group game against Spain putting them through to the semi finals.
