Gitarijada is a musical festival held in Zaječar

in order to promote demo bands
. Held since 1969, Gitarijada is one of the longest lasting festivals in Serbia and in South Eastern Europe and the largest festival of young and unsinged bands in South Eastern Europe. During the years, apart from the competition of demo bands, the festival program included performances of Serbian and former Yugoslav, as well as of foreign established bands. Some of the foreign acts that appeared in the non-competitive part of the festival were Laibach

History
Gitarijada was founded in 1969 by band Dar and Vojislav Paunović. First Gitarijada was held in Dom JNA in Zaječar. After several years organisation of Gitarijada was hostile taken from its founder by communist regime . After that Zajecar's Dom Omladine ( Youth Center ) was organisator of Gitariada.Winners
