History

In the year 1982 Hubert Gerstlauer, a former employee of the Schwarzkopf GmbH
Anton Schwarzkopf
Anton Schwarzkopf was a German engineer of amusement rides, and founder of the Schwarzkopf Industries company, which built numerous rides and large roller coasters for both amusement parks and travelling funfairs....

, founded his own company which he named "Gerstlauer Elektro GmbH". With this company he delivered electric and pneumatic equipments for Schwarzkopf's facilities.
After final bankruptcy of Schwarzkopf in 1992, Gerstlauer acquired part of their production halls and continued the manufacture of amusement rides and roller coasters. Regarding the increase of their products, the company had been renamed to "Gerstlauer Amusement Rides GmbH" in March 2007.
