and Margaret Fenne, daughter of Sir Hugh Fenne, sub-treasurer of England. Margaret was born around 1444 at Sculton Burdeleys in Norfolk
. She was the second of the three wives of the 4th Lord Bergavenny, and is recorded as having died on 28 September 1485.
Nevill fought in the Battle of Blackheath on 17 June 1497, against the Cornish Rebels. At the coronation of King Henry VIII
in 1509, he held the office of Chief Larderer. On 18 December 1512, King Henry VIII granted him the castle and lands of Abergavenny. From 1521 to 1522 he was imprisoned on suspicion of conspiring with his father-in-law, the Duke of Buckingham
. At the coronation of Anne Boleyn
in 1533, Nevill once again held the honour of Chief Larderer and was allowed to officiate.
He was an elder brother of Sir Edward Nevill who was executed in 1540 on order of King Henry VIII
, charged with devising to maintain, promote, and advance King Henry's cousin, Cardinal Reginald Pole, late Dean of Exeter, enemy of the King, beyond the sea, and to deprive the King. They had two sisters, Jane and Elizabeth. Jane herself was executed in 1539 along with her husband Henry Pole, 1st Baron Montagu
, as he was the elder brother of Reginald Pole.
Sir George Nevill was buried before 24 January 1536 in Birling, Kent, England.

around June 1519 and had issue. His fourth marriage was to a Mary Brooke after 1520; no issue.

. Another daughter, Lady Mary married Thomas Fiennes, 9th Baron Dacre
, who was executed after being found guilty of murder.
He was succeeded by his son Henry Nevill, 6th Baron Bergavenny
