George Frederick Harris

George Frederick Harris (30 October 1856 - 14 June 1924) was a Welsh portrait and landscape painter.
He was born in Birmingham
but lived in Merthyr Tydfil
, where on 15 March 1882 he married Jemima Reid Ashley, a widow aged 31 years. In 1920 he emigrated to Australia with his family. George Frederick was the son of Cleopas Harris and Anne Jones, who had married in 1854.His brother, Albert Edward Harris, was also a portrait and landscape painter and worked for 37 years in India. In Australia the widowed George Frederick married Rosetta Lucas, who had been born on 18 November 1874 in Hengoed
